Rob Silvestri is an experienced and skilled animator who is creator and director of “Ormie,” the new animated series from Starz Animation Toronto. “Ormie” tells the story of ...Ormie is a Pig, in every sense of the word. Pig see cookie. Pig want cookie. But they are out of reach.... or are they? See Ormie’s attempts to gain the warm sweet taste that is his obsession. Silvestri has been a senior character animator at Starz Animation Toronto since early 2006, working on such high-profile CG animated features as the upcoming Gnomeo & Juliet (from Miramax Films and Elton John’s Rocket Pictures), Focus Features’ recent hit 9, Universal Features and Big Idea’s The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie and Aardman Animation’s TV series “Chop Socky Chooks.” Prior to joining Starz Animation Toronto, Silvestri worked on animation projects for Red Rover Animation, C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures and AAC Productions, and continues to teach animation at Seneca College’s Animation Arts Centre. Silvestri is a graduate of Seneca College, with a 3-D Animation Post Diploma in Maya.
