There are only about fifteen Nuxalk language speakers and storytellers in Bella Coola, British Columbia. Director Banci Hanuse wants to ask one of them, her 80-year-old grandmother, if she can film her telling stories in the language she first heard them in, but cannot bring herself to do it. She asks herself whether an electronic recording can capture the true meaning of these oral traditions. Thursday, April 14, 9:45 AM, Vancity Theatre, 1181 Seymour Street, Vancouver
